Our story

The Tale of NiZi

NiZi comes from the word ‘Nijhi’ and we believe that every jewellery piece should be as unique as you, because jewellery is personal. You wear a piece of jewellery for so long that it's a part of your story and slowly it becomes a part of you and we get it, that's why we make sure that your jewellery is truly yours. That’s what makes us NiZi.

NiZi was born out of a simple friendship between Dhrumit and Kanishka. They met in the UK while studying for the same degree but it all changed during a conversation about what makes jewellery special. They thought for a while but Dhrumit got the answer when he looked down on his ring, gifted by his father and realized that it's not the gold, the diamonds or even the designs that make it special - it's the EMOTION.

That moment turned into a shared dream. A dream of building a place of shared emotions. A place where people didn’t buy jewellery because the sales man convinced them that something was a ‘bestseller’ or ‘in trend’. A place where jewellery was made from emotions because that’s what makes the jewellery personal, that’s what makes it Nijhi = NiZi

"My Personal connection to diamonds and jewellery comes from My dad. He moved to Surat in the early 1990s wanting to change his fortunes. Coming from humble beginnings, he trained as a diamond artisan and mastered the art. Eventually, he started his own company and sometimes used to bring a packet of diamonds home to show us his work. And as you can imagine, there is nothing more fascinating for a 6 year old than diamonds and that fascination hasn’t faded even now! Now, as I begin my own journey, my mission is to want to share that feeling of wonder with the world and remind everyone about what made jewellery special in the first place."

"When I was little, jewellery seemed magical. My family's heirlooms, my grandma's earrings and my aunt's cherished ring, were more than just accessories. They were fragments of our history, whispering stories of love and moments past. Each piece carried memories, connecting generations through delicate metal and sparkling stones. As I grew older, this fascination deepened. I began to understand that jewellery isn't just about beauty, but about connection. With NiZi, I aim to create pieces that aren't merely decorative, but become treasured memories. I want every piece to be a bridge between past and present, something a child might one day hold and feel the same wonder I once did. Jewellery, at its heart, is about storytelling, and that's the magic I hope to share."
